Make-Up Air Unit Burner for a Commercial AHU

A 50000 m3/h air-handling unit needed tempered make-up air for a large workspace without over-firing. Compact Bentone B40 burners with certified trains gave clean, controlled heat.

The challenge

01

Exhaust-driven negative pressure pulled in cold, un-tempered air in winter.

02

The old burner over-fired and made the space stuffy near the unit.

03

Make-up air had to stay clean for the workshop air permit.

04

Many AHUs meant spares and service had to be simple.

What we supplied & did

01

Fitted compact Bentone B40 burners into the make-up air stream.

02

Installed Dungs safety valve trains with leak test on each unit.

03

Added Honeywell flame detectors and pressure switches for automatic, safe operation.

04

Balanced heat input on site to temper the air without local overheat.

Measured results

What changed on the line

Supply air: Tempered, clean Pressure: Negative corrected Gas saving: ≈ 8% Spares: Common across AHUs

Make-up air is tempered, correcting winter negative pressure in the workspace.

Controlled heat input removed the stuffy zone near the unit.

Clean combustion meets the workshop air permit.

Common Bentone/Dungs parts simplify spares across the AHUs.
