Case Study · Commercial Laundry

Tunnel Dryer Burner for an Industrial Laundry

A 2 t/h tunnel dryer struggled with wet spots from uneven heat. A Baltur modulating burner with an integrated Dungs combo valve spread the hot air evenly and trimmed gas use.

The challenge

01

Uneven heat left wet spots and forced a second pass on linen.

02

The old burner cycled harshly, shortening belt and fan life.

03

Gas cost per kg of dry linen was above target.

04

The plant ran 20 h/day and could not spare long stoppages.

What we supplied & did

01

Fitted a Baltur TBG90 modulating burner for continuous 20-100% heat output.

02

Used a Dungs integrated combo valve to absorb inlet pressure swings.

03

Added pressure monitoring and a Siemens program controller for safe automatic starts.

04

Tuned air/fuel on site to even the hot-air distribution along the tunnel.

Measured results

What changed on the line

Dry uniformity: No wet spots Gas saving: ≈ 10% Cycle: Single-pass Runtime: 20 h/day stable

Linen dries evenly on the first pass, removing re-work and freeing capacity.

Modulating output replaced harsh cycling, easing wear on belt and fans.

Gas per kg of dry linen dropped about 10%.

Changeover was completed within a single off-peak shift.
